Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, you will supervise utilities maintenance activities to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of plant utility systems including boilers and steam, ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, natural gas distribution, wastewater treatment, process water, and fire suppression systems. You will lead the utilities maintenance team, support system uptime, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with Operations, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, and the Reliability Center of Excellence to implement effective maintenance practices. A Taste of Your Responsibilities Oversee performance, reliability, and compliance of plant utilities including boilers and steam, ammonia refrigeration, natural gas, compressed air, process water, wastewater, and fire suppression. Lead and develop the utilities maintenance team, including scheduling and coaching. Reduce utility related downtime through system optimization and maintenance best practices. Manage the utilities maintenance budget and monitor key expenditures. Support capital planning for infrastructure upgrades and replacements. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety standards such as Lockout/Tagout, confined space, Good Manufacturing Practices, and hot work procedures. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including Process Safety Management, Risk Management Programs, boiler codes, National Fire Protection Association standards, and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System requirements. Lead preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance strategies. Use SAP Plant Maintenance and Reliability Center of Excellence processes for work management. Track utilities key performance indicators and address major losses. Maintain accurate documentation including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, standard operating procedures, Management of Change records, and preventive maintenance compliance. Perform boiler checks, water tests, blowdowns, and inspections while maintaining associated records. Maintain Process Safety Management documentation including operator training and refrigeration rounds. Track wastewater performance, calibrate instruments, and complete required reporting. Inspect fire systems including pumps, alarms, extinguishers, and sprinklers. Update and rehearse emergency procedures for ammonia, gas leaks, and fire events. Evaluate technician skill levels and implement development plans. Supervise contractors to ensure safe and compliant work.
