About The Position

A leading industrial materials and processing organization supporting mining, chemical, and manufacturing operations is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor – Surface to lead mechanical maintenance operations at a high-production facility. This role is ideal for a mechanically strong leader with experience maintaining heavy industrial or mining equipment who can drive equipment reliability, oversee preventive maintenance programs, and lead a maintenance team in a highly safety-focused environment.
What you will be doing:

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience maintaining mining or heavy industrial equipment such as conveyors, crushers, screens, mills, or material handling systems.
• 2+ years of maintenance supervisory or lead experience in an industrial or production environment.
• Strong troubleshooting ability with mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Strong leadership skills, safety mindset, and hands-on problem-solving ability.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in MSHA-regulated or similar safety-driven industrial environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities supporting surface operations.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Prioritize and manage repair work on critical production equipment.
• Direct field and shop repairs for heavy industrial systems including conveyors, crushers, screens, and material handling equipment.
• Support major equipment repair projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage spare parts inventory, ordering, and equipment availability.
• Ensure compliance with MSHA, EHS, and company safety policies.
• Conduct regular safety meetings, training, and reinforcement of safe work practices.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians and mechanics.
• Monitor team performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Maintain strong communication and coordination with operations and facility leadership.
