About The Position

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you are responsible for overseeing the inspection, repair, and maintenance of all hotel systems, equipment, and facilities to ensure the property operates safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Supervisor leads the engineering team, coordinates daily work orders and preventative maintenance programs, and ensures that the building, guest rooms, and public areas are maintained in excellent condition. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate can effectively supervise a team while also working independently when needed, ensuring all health and safety standards are followed. The goal is to maintain the property at the highest possible standard while supporting a positive guest experience. This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Engineer in maintaining the overall condition, safety, and functionality of the hotel building, guest rooms, and public areas.
  • Assist in identifying building issues and developing solutions that protect the property and improve long-term facility performance.
  • Help manage and execute the hotel’s preventative maintenance program, ensuring equipment, mechanical systems, and building infrastructure are inspected and serviced regularly.
  • Recognize, report, and address potential safety hazards (damaged doors, railings, fire risks, etc.) and communicate any maintenance concerns to leadership.
  • Perform and oversee basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and flooring maintenance when needed.
  • Assist with painting, exterior upkeep, and minor structural or roof repairs to maintain the overall appearance and integrity of the property.
  • Support maintenance and upkeep of pool, fitness equipment, and other guest amenities when applicable.
  • Monitor inventory levels for maintenance supplies and tools to ensure the team can complete work orders and preventative maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Work closely with the Chief Engineer and management team to identify facility improvement projects and assist in executing building repairs and operational improvements.
  • Maintain accurate logs, work orders, and maintenance reports for leadership review.
  • When necessary, assist with exterior building maintenance during inclement weather or emergency situations.
