About The Position

This position is located in Hilbert, Wisconsin. Relocation assistance offered! 3rd shift, $5,000 Sign-On Bonus. Under general supervision and reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, this role involves directing and coordinating employees in assigned areas. Responsibilities include repair, modification, installation, and optimization of manufacturing equipment. The role also ensures employees are completing their work assignments in compliance with food safety and personnel safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Electromechanical Technology, Automated Manufacturing Systems, Supervisory Management or a journey worker credential in an accredited technical discipline required.
  • Three to five years of mechanical experience required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor employee practices to ensure they comply with regulatory and company quality policies.
  • Monitor products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Monitor equipment, building and contractors to ensure compliance with company quality policies.
  • Investigate and answer Corrective Action Requests.
  • Monitor employee practices to ensure they comply with regulatory and company safety policies.
  • Monitor equipment and plant conditions to ensure they comply with regulatory and company safety policies.
  • Investigate and recommend improvements related to near miss, property damage or employee injury incidents.
  • Support the plant safety program by actively participating in improvement programs.
  • Foster and support the Sargento Culture.
  • Monitor employee interactions to ensure they comply with our corporate culture.
  • Create an open two-way dialogue with all employees.
  • Encourage and promote career advancement opportunities with employees.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Issue and document discipline in accordance with the Sargento policy.
  • Document individual employee conversations used in the coaching process.
  • Complete, at a minimum, annual employee evaluations.
  • Complete new employee evaluations.
  • Provide appropriate depth of hourly backups for key positions in your area.
  • Ensure employee training is current and concepts have been retained by the employee.
  • Create and deliver monthly department meetings.
  • Understand production schedule and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Create and adjust work orders as needed.
  • Interpret work orders and can assign employees duties to support the work.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, or work crew.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Communicate with peer supervisors and cross-functionally to coordinate activities in the best interest of Sargento.
  • Direct the setup and adjustment of equipment.
  • Use technical tools/systems required to support manufacturing (SAP, scanning guns, Maintenance Excellence etc.).
  • Review and update training programs.
  • Monitor supply usage and inventory.
  • Trouble-shoot material issues.
  • Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Assists workers in performing preventative maintenance and repairs of machinery and equipment.
  • Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Modifies programming of robots and related equipment such as robot controllers and programmable controllers.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Implement, oversee and coordinate manufacturing preventive maintenance activities.
  • Investigate, identify, and correct potential sources of product contamination (equipment related).
  • Occasionally assisting in project management concerning equipment installation design and procurement.
