About The Position

Our Cass-Clay Creamery is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to direct the maintenance team and oversee the efficient scheduling of preventative and corrective maintenance work. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of our dairy processing operations, of fluid milk and yogurt. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead a diverse team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance technician role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/lead role.
  • Maintenance experience in the dairy or food and beverage industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge/experience with food manufacturing equipment i.e., filling machines, blow mold machines, air compressors, conveyors.
  • Proven experience working with motor control circuitry up to 480V, 3-phase, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • PLC experience (Allen Bradley platform) is desired, programming is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is desired.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in using maintenance planning and scheduling software preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, maintenance management, or related field is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication, welding, and machining methods is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and assign daily jobs and work orders and provide clear direction to maintenance employees.
  • Oversee an effective predictive/preventive maintenance program that has a maintenance strategy for all assets.
  • Complete supervisory activities such as administering employee promotions and transfers; reviewing and editing employee timekeeping; completing performance evaluations; mentoring, training, and coaching employees.
  • Provide staff with the necessary training on existing and new equipment.
  • Use systems to support task planning with time required, parts required, and job descriptions.
  • Assist the maintenance manager to ensure that all preventative maintenance work orders are completed within the given time.
  • Actively support and implement preventative maintenance programs; schedule and provide constant monitoring of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Oversee the repairs and maintenance of all plant equipment.
  • Assist in developing procedures and policies for the maintenance department.
  • Complete and maintain record keeping using databases and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Support work for proper root cause analysis on breakdowns or failures.
  • Assist the maintenance manager on capital and special projects.
  • Work with inventory or supply employees to ensure an adequate inventory of spare parts and equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to work unsupervised and make competent decisions when the maintenance manager is not available.
  • Remain current with the latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.
