About The Position

The Maintenance Superintendent leads all maintenance operations at our Toledo facility. This role ensures equipment reliability, reduces downtime, and manages maintenance costs. You will support production goals through high-quality repair and maintenance services, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include equipment management, contractor oversight, vendor and spare parts management, budgeting, and team development.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Production Manufacturing, or related field
  • Electrical and mechanical knowledge required
  • Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) processes
  • Strong background in maintenance management or supervision, preferably in food, feed, or chemical production environments
  • Knowledge of asset management techniques and proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Familiarity with machinery, instrumentation, and electrical systems
  • Ability to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and work at heights
  • Work indoors and outdoors year-round, occasionally in dusty, noisy, or hazardous environments

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors comply with ADM safety policies and procedures
  • Set goals and expectations for the maintenance team to achieve performance excellence
  • Support production departments in safety, quality, and audit compliance
  • Align and execute ADM’s Maintenance and Reliability strategy
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and reliability activities
  • Manage the maintenance budget and control monthly repair and maintenance spending
  • Lead root-cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Track and analyze maintenance metrics to improve performance
  • Train production staff on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Maintain an organized storeroom and inventory of spare parts
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize production disruptions
  • Manage maintenance records using CMMS and ensure accurate documentation
  • Lead maintenance projects focused on asset reliability and defect elimination
  • Support team development through training, feedback, and coaching
