Maintenance Superintendent - Columbus, NE Summary: The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for leading plant maintenance and supporting production operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance. This role oversees all maintenance activities, provides technical and troubleshooting support, assigns work to trades, and drives continuous improvement in equipment and practices. The position works closely with plant leadership and staff to meet safety, quality, production, and cost goals while ensuring compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations. The Maintenance Superintendent trains, supervises, and develops employees, manages costs, and leads the team in a positive, results-focused manner to achieve plant and organizational objectives. Specific Job Duties: Ensures the safety of all personnel through compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, demonstrate safety leadership through participation in all safety processes with a goal of Zero injuries. Maximo implementation and utilization for purchasing, preventative and predictive maintenance. Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel. Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance. Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs. Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation, and monitoring departmental expenditures. Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts. Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, and outside contractors. Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use. Employee development and interaction is a key need for this role. The candidate is responsible for developing a well-trained, efficient and safety conscious team while empowering them to develop ideas for improvements in operation. Working knowledge of Maximo and a functional understanding of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is desired. Prior management/leadership experience is required. Heavy industrial maintenance in a continuous improvement process is preferred. Must be willing and able to spend time in plant areas to understand the process. Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities. Excellent communication skills will be needed to excel in this role. Ability to work extended hours and on-call responsibilities Recognizes hazards and takes action to mitigate them in order to prevent safety, quality, or environmental incidents. Keeps plant and department leaders informed of matters affecting the morale and safety of hourly colleagues. Leads by example and demonstrates the ADM Core Values in all matters, especially as it pertains to safety and personal conduct. Completes necessary reports and documents during the normal course of a shift, including by not limited to safety-quality-environmental events/reports, production reports, permits, and regular safety engagements.
