About The Position

The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for leading the maintenance function at the plant, overseeing all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance processes to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The role directs maintenance programs, equipment uptime efforts, facility infrastructure compliance, and new equipment installations. The Superintendent manages planning activities, process development, resource allocation, and the performance of the maintenance team. This position uses independent discretion under semi-defined guidance and plays a key leadership role in minimizing downtime‑related financial losses and sustaining operational excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 6-8+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing/remanufacturing environments.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making ability using independent discretion
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Excel, Word, maintenance software/CMMS systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Ensure structured preventative maintenance schedules are established, followed, audited, and continuously improved.
  • Lead daily coordination with maintenance, production, and plant management to ensure equipment availability and effective operational support.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, process development, troubleshooting, and new equipment installation activities.
  • Ensure proper facility management, including building infrastructure upkeep (HVAC, electrical, facility safety systems).
  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement strategies to minimize downtime‑related financial losses through equipment condition monitoring, audits, and data‑driven maintenance practices.
  • Provide leadership to technicians; responsible for overall team performance.
