About The Position

We are hiring a Maintenance Superintendent to lead and manage the maintenance division and ensure that maintenance work is performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for planning and directing the activities of the plant maintenance departments across all three shifts. In times of production crisis, this role will assume a leadership position to assess causes, evaluate recovery plans, and direct activities, particularly during equipment breakdowns or major quality issues that prevent product shipment. The Maintenance Superintendent will develop and implement a preventive maintenance plan that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes scheduling and assigning maintenance work to the maintenance team to ensure timely completion, reviewing maintenance requests, and identifying priorities for maintenance work. The role also involves tracking and analyzing equipment and maintenance data to identify trends and patterns, as well as developing and updating maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and codes is a critical aspect of this position. The Maintenance Superintendent will manage maintenance budgets, track costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Providing training and coaching to maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge is essential, as is managing and supervising maintenance staff to ensure they have the necessary resources to perform their work effectively. Monitoring work progress and leading problem resolution will be key responsibilities, along with establishing department priorities in conjunction with production. Additionally, the Maintenance Superintendent will recommend and manage the Equipment Reliability budget, interview and recommend hires for apprentices and journeymen, and adhere to accepted safety practices. This role will also involve consulting on Safety Sign Off Procedures, new equipment, and cost savings related to production, automation, and equipment in the plants. The Maintenance Superintendent will assist in the administration of policy formulation for the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program, budgeting, company policy, and manpower planning.
