Maintenance - Summer Laborer (28706) [Temporary]
About The Position
Several positions have been declared open at Weber School District for Summer Maintenance Laborers. These are temporary positions with work dates from May 26, 2026, through August 21, 2026. The Maintenance Laborer, under the direction of an assigned Foreman, assists skilled maintenance personnel in a wide variety of facility upkeep, repair, and improvement tasks. This includes collaborating with and following directives from journeyman-level personnel, performing semi-skilled maintenance duties such as painting, drywall patching, and carpet installation or repair, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of parts inventories, storage facilities, and active work sites.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to comprehend instructions, read safety manuals, and report project progress.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with supervisors, journeymen, and district staff.
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance practices and the ability to safely operate standard hand and power tools.
- Must hold and maintain a valid Utah Driver's License appropriate to the duties performed and equipment operated.
- Demonstrate the reading comprehension and communication skills necessary for successful job performance.
- A minimum of one (1) year of related work experience demonstrating the reliability and mechanical aptitude to perform the essential duties.
