About The Position

Excelsior Charter School is seeking a Maintenance staff member to oversee custodial and maintenance duties to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe environment. This position is under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services and involves a variety of tasks including supervising custodial personnel, maintaining facilities, and performing minor repairs. The ideal candidate will be committed to Excelsior's mission and values, and will contribute positively to the school community.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Maintenance/custodial experience desired.
• Must possess and maintain a valid (Class C) California driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Know and be committed to Excelsior's Vision, Mission, and Values.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when exposed to sensitive written materials.
• Supervise assigned custodial personnel to ensure efficient performance.
• Prepare facility for daily operations including opening gates and maintaining access.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and maintain cleanliness of campus facilities.
• Pick up debris from grounds and buildings.
• Clean ventilation ducts and replace filters as necessary.
• Participate in thorough cleaning and restoration during vacations.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for facility maintenance.
• Report safety and sanitary hazards.
• Perform semi-skilled maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment.
• Deliver various items for distribution to appropriate parties.
• Assist with setup and takedown of furniture and equipment for events.
• Lock and unlock assigned buildings and secure them when not in use.
• Maintain positive relationships with students and staff.
• Be a positive role model for students and parents.
• Pursue academic and professional growth and development.
• Attend staff development sessions and professional conferences.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
