What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities: Perform all maintenance tasks as needed, according to skills/abilities and consistent with regulations and facility policy. Monitor operation and condition of equipment and systems is monitored routinely and preventive/corrective maintenance is done in timely manner to minimize disruption to safe, comfortable environment. Assist in monitoring operation of general systems such as heating/cooling; report problems or malfunctions immediately. Assist housekeeping staff with heavy floor care (strip/wax/buff) and other heavy cleaning and trash collection and/or removal. Assure appropriate tools, equipment, materials and supplies are available for performance of maintenance duties; establishes and maintains inventory and records of purchase. Maintain outside walkways in safe condition for use, i.e. assures prompt snow/ice removal. Maintain lawn and landscaping. Assure facility or equipment modifications, preventive maintenance or repairs are done in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, regulations, and laws. Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS). Follow waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy. Assist in inspections, fire and disaster drills, and training; report outcome according to established procedure. Use equipment, tools, supplies, and chemicals according to instructions, observing safety precautions and protective measures.
