THE ROLE ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain, diagnose and correct facility and appropriate building systems in all facilities within appropriate discipline (Maintenance). Provide preventative and corrective maintenance, painting and repair and installation of new equipment as needed. Provide necessary information for the proper purchase of preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment and systems. Respond to routine and emergency calls and make necessary repairs. Research, develop and make recommendations in regard to the maintenance and capital improvement of equipment and systems. Monitor system efficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions. Provide event related maintenance, painting, carpentry and support. Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling holes, and repairing minor drywall or plaster damage. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, sealers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Assist with general maintenance tasks as needed (drywall patching, caulking, basic repairs). Review, perform and maintain regular department work orders and equipment through the use of CMMS (Legends Maintenance) Conduct regular inspections of workspaces to ensure proper housekeeping, safety and compliance exists for the protection of health, safety and rights of employees and the public. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must have overall understanding and experience in facility management, painting experience preferred.
Must have attention to detail, ability to work independently with little supervision with good organizational skills to productively produce results and handle tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and be results driven.
Excellent customer service skills are a must as the position requires frequent interaction with customers, vendors and visitors to the facilities.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet the City’s driving requirements for City equipment.
Must have ability to possess and maintain current OSHA Forklift and Personnel Lift Certification.
High School Diploma or GED required.
3 years’ experience is required in the maintenance of building and equipment in an industrial or commercial setting.

Nice To Haves

Painting experience in a commercial setting is preferred.
