About The Position
The Maintenance Specialist at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and School in Austin, Texas, plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and operational condition of all school and parish buildings and equipment. This position is essential for ensuring that the facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming for all parishioners and students. The Maintenance Specialist is expected to have a mechanical aptitude and knowledge in various areas such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, heating, and cooling systems. The role requires a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision while following directions effectively. In addition to routine maintenance tasks, the Maintenance Specialist will assist in setting up rooms for events in the parish activity center and help with seasonal decorations in the church, school, and activity center. The position also involves keeping the school and parish grounds clean, which includes tasks like picking up debris, pressure washing, and maintaining floor mats. The ability to lift up to 80 pounds and climb ladders up to 30 feet is necessary, as well as operating common hand and power tools. The Maintenance Specialist will also play a part in maintaining a secure campus during school hours, ensuring the safety of students and staff. This role is not just about maintenance; it is about engaging in ministry for the Church. The Maintenance Specialist will work closely with the Pastor and other staff members to support the mission of the parish. This position requires a commitment to the values and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as well as the ability to provide excellent customer service to clergy, staff, students, and the community.
