NOW HIRING Maintenance Tech at our Manchester Road location in Kalamazoo, MI! The role involves supporting the lines in your work group and working with various managers and technicians to improve overall line reliability and case attainment. The position is for the night shift from 5:15 PM to 5:30 AM with three paid breaks. The schedule alternates between working and off days over a four-week cycle.

  • Diagnose faulty production and related plant equipment with minimal supervision using provided schematics, manuals, and drawings.
  • Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical problems and troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Complete a setup and process the line from scratch after a changeover.
  • Understand the functions of a lip roller and bagger to run new products through this equipment.
  • Conduct R&D trials on the shop floor and in the Tech center.
  • Identify faulty parts and provide proper nomenclature for requisitioning spares or replacements.
  • Maintain knowledge of spare parts in the storeroom and observe withdrawal and return procedures.
  • Demonstrate general working knowledge of machine shop equipment.
  • Lead co-workers in assigned tasks and maintain necessary records and established maintenance procedures.
  • Understand and operate SAP and RTC programs within Pactiv.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Work, train, and communicate openly with all members of the workgroup team.
  • Develop action plans for resolution to repeatable failures.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call phone support for assistance/reporting to/by the team.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
  • Three to five years of experience in a related field.
  • High school graduate required.
  • Completion of a vocational or trade school curriculum with a concentration in electro-mechanical courses desired.
  • Ability to read and use precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Strong speaking and presentation skills.
  • Starting pay at $31.37/HR based on experience.
  • Paid breaks during shifts.
