The Maintenance Specialist V position involves advanced restoration, renovation, building maintenance, and construction work in a designated skilled trade. The role includes performing inspections, adjustments, maintenance, and repair work in accordance with recognized codes and standards on building systems for various trades. The position may also require participation in disaster response and recovery efforts.

Requirements

  • Vocational training in one or more trades (electrical, plumbing, masonry, etc.) and two years of experience in any of the trades.
  • Minimum four years of experience in construction, maintenance, or equipment/vehicle repair work.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver license or obtain it within 90 days after hire.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, or sketches.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety, fire and safety regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in at least two trades such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
  • Skills in preventative maintenance and inspections of buildings and building systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs advanced restoration, renovation, building maintenance and construction work in a designated skilled trade.
  • Conducts inspections, adjustments, maintenance and repair work on building systems.
  • Maintains, tests, troubleshoots and repairs components associated with fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Acts as a lead worker, providing training and guidance to others.
  • Processes paperwork related to work orders, projects, and material requisitions.
  • Operates machinery such as backhoes and forklifts as necessary.
  • Completes requisitions for materials and equipment, maintains records of materials used.
  • Provides inspections on work performed by contractors to ensure contract compliance.
