The Maintenance Specialist Sr. at Plant Yates serves as a technical system owner, responsible for the maintenance strategy, reliability, and long-term performance of assigned plant systems. This role involves developing, executing, and continuously improving preventive and corrective maintenance strategies using equipment history, PM effectiveness, and failure data. The specialist provides technical guidance and oversight for maintenance execution, including job scoping, prioritization, planning, scheduling, and weekly work plan coordination. They lead or support Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat failures. The position also entails planning, scheduling, and executing forced, planned, and maintenance outages, coordinating major maintenance, repair, replacement, and capital activities, and analyzing abnormal or critical equipment conditions to develop sound technical solutions. The specialist acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned systems, manages and tracks maintenance and outage budgets, and utilizes various computerized systems daily. They support the implementation of Southern Company fleet standards and best practices, evaluate new or rebuilt equipment, and serve as a Contract Administrator for plant contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with agreements and policies.
