About The Position

The Maintenance Specialist II (Aqueduct Section) at East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) is responsible for performing a variety of operations, maintenance, repair, inspection, and construction tasks related to the district's water and wastewater systems. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in mechanical, electrical, structures maintenance, equipment operation, or construction work.
• Valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record; must obtain a Class A driver's license within 12 months of appointment.
• Ability to obtain a T2 Water Treatment Operator Certificate and/or a Wastewater Operator-in-Training Certificate within 12 months of appointment.
• Ability to obtain a Category C Qualified Applicators Certificate for pest control within 12 months of appointment.
• Ability to obtain a Service Truck Crane Operator certification within 12 months of appointment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in construction and building trades.
• Experience in large diameter pipeline construction and maintenance.
• Experience in pumping plant and facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform operations, maintenance, repair, inspection, and construction tasks for water and wastewater systems.
• Operate, maintain, and repair pipelines and appurtenances such as valves and flow meters.
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment including motors and control systems.
• Operate and maintain industrial facilities and equipment such as pumps and water treatment systems.
• Conduct land maintenance work including road and drainage maintenance and herbicide application.
• Operate commercial vehicles and heavy equipment such as backhoes and cranes.
