About The Position

Maintain and repair the school system's buildings and grounds in an acceptabel manner to keep them in safe and efficient operating condition.

Requirements

• Physically able to lift up to 100 lbs and work in various environmental conditions.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
• Must pass a performance test demonstrating job-related skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general maintenance or a skilled trade (carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, etc.)
• Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance techniques, tools, and materials.
• Satisfy the requirements for clearances: background check, DCFS CANS, and drug test

Nice To Haves

• Experience working on major projects in a school or commercial setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled tasks in accordance with state and local codes and the standard practices of the trade.
• Accept responsibility for the quality and quantity or work produced.
• Promote high standards of safety and good housekeeping methods in work areas.
• Perform all types of work assigned by the foreman.
• Assist in the preparation of job estimates and recommended purchase of necessary supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by higher authority.
