About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics and Automation Technician/Programmer to join our advanced manufacturing team. This hybrid role requires expertise in both hands-on technical support and advanced programming for robotics and automation systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ABB robotics, Siemens PLCs, and electronics, combining strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to design, program, repair, and optimize automation processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Robotics, Electrical/Automation Engineering, PLC Programming, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in ABB Robotics programming, troubleshooting, and deployment.
  • Siemens PLC (TIA Portal/Step 7) programming and troubleshooting.
  • Electronics integration and control systems.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation networks and communication protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, instrumentation diagrams, and system wiring.
  • Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair robotic and automated systems across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and technical documentation abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with metal stamping and forming processes preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, IoT, and smart manufacturing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, program, and troubleshoot ABB robotic systems for manufacturing applications.
  • Design, configure, and maintain Siemens PLC programs (TIA Portal, Step 7, etc.).
  • Integrate robotics, PLCs, and electronic control systems into fully functional automation solutions.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on robotic and automation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform diagnostics, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for robotics and automated systems.
  • Repair and restore robotic and automation systems to full operational status following breakdowns or malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, production, and maintenance teams to implement automation strategies.
  • Ensure all systems comply with safety standards, industry regulations, and company best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, productivity, and system reliability.
