About The Position
The Department of Human Services, Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services (BJJS), Loysville Youth Development Center is seeking a reliable Maintenance Repairman 2. This position involves performing semi-skilled and skilled work in several trades within the youth development center/youth forestry camp (YDC/YFC) system. The role includes daily upkeep and long-term maintenance of buildings and grounds, operating the boiler plant, and functioning as a lead worker over semi-skilled workers completing carpentry, heating, cooling, painting, masonry, and electrical work. Responsibilities also include installing and maintaining plumbing fixtures, steam lines for heating, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations. The position requires recommending repair or replacement of equipment, requisitioning supplies, and driving vehicles to pick up and deliver parts, materials, and equipment.
