About The Position

Truckee Meadows Community College is recruiting for a Maintenance Repair Specialist 2 in the Facilities Operations and Capital Planning Department. This position is responsible for the maintenance and modification of plumbing systems and fixtures, constructing and modifying facilities and fixtures by pouring and finishing concrete for labs and floors, constructing roofs and walls, and installing doors and windows. The Maintenance Repair Specialist 2 is also responsible for repairing surfaces, applying paint, staining furniture, replacing keys, locks and electronic access systems. This position will also review blueprints and schematics, layout projects and install switches, relays and circuit breaker panels, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and provide supervision to employees. This position will also make recommendations to their supervisor, draft bids and contracts for external projects, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades.
  • One (1) year of journey level experience as a Maintenance Repair Specialist I in Nevada State service.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
  • Valid Class 'C' driver's license or higher operator's license required.
  • Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces with frequent exposure to chemicals, paints, and dust.

Responsibilities
