About The Position

This position is responsible for improving the uptime, performance, and service life of industrial equipment and machinery across multiple sites. The role applies best-practice maintenance strategies, data analysis, and root cause analysis to reduce equipment failures and minimize unplanned downtime. The position provides hands-on, field-based support for safety-critical production equipment, with a primary focus on press brake systems, machine safety, and industrial controls software. Responsibilities include overseeing installation, repair, retrofits/upgrades, and maintenance activities; coordinating labor; and supporting both on-site and remote diagnostics. Serving as a trusted escalation resource, this role delivers technical leadership, drives process optimization, and ensures reliable, safe, and efficient operation of equipment throughout the company’s global footprint.

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelors with 6+ years relevant experience, Associates Degree with 8+ years relevant experience or 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Ability to configure, back up, diagnose, and troubleshoot industrial control systems using: Cybelec / VisiTouch Siemens Step7 v5.4+ SP1 with WinCC Flexible Advanced 2005 SP1 HF7 PRONETA for ProfiBus and ProfiNet diagnostics SICK CDS Program and FlexiSoft Designer ETIC M2Me Connect for secure remote diagnostics and live PLC monitoring Kollmorgen S600 and DriveGUI for servo amplifier backups, diagnostics, and modifications Schneider Electric SoMove for VFD backups, diagnostics, and modifications
  • Configure, diagnose, validate, and support machine safety systems, including: Safety scanners and safety PLC systems
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration which will include both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of mechanical tools - tape measure, thread gauges, micrometers, protractors, square combination and dial calipers
  • Knowledge of electrical test equipment, meters and other similar equipment
  • Ability to stand, move and perform as defined in the demand summary
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Advanced reading and interpreting blueprints or process sheets in an industrial or construction environment
  • Experience operating man lifts, forklifts and other equipment in an industrial environment

  • Participate in department functions, such as Lean teams, safety, peer review, and employee training.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects with shop, maintenance personnel and contractors
  • Provide hands-on support for safety-critical machinery in live production environments
  • Create clear, field-ready technical documentation, including: Automated press brake operating instructions Preventive maintenance programs Reliability, efficiency, and performance improvement procedures
  • Drive process optimization based on real production conditions and field experience
  • Deliver secure, real-time remote diagnostics and troubleshooting via software applications
  • Provide advanced technical support for press brake systems, including: Hydraulic system functionality and performance optimization Mechanical and hydraulic crowning systems
  • Perform remote fault isolation to minimize downtime and improve first-time fix rates
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate equipment failures and determine the root cause, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), specifically to press brakes.
  • Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of assets, ensuring reliability is built into new installations and optimizing existing ones.
  • Technical Support & Training: Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance technicians and operators regarding best practices.
  • CMMS Management: Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document service activities, maintain equipment history, and track spare parts.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to OSHA and company safety guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, controls and automation as well as blueprint/schematic reading.
  • Electrical systems and control integration
  • Tandem press brake alignment and synchronization
  • Absolute leveling, calibration, and synchronization of single and tandem press brake systems
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Oracle), Microsoft Office Suite, and CAD/CAM software.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment issues.
  • Maintain a calm, structured approach to troubleshooting during high-stress, high-downtime situations
  • Act as a trusted escalation point for complex technical and safety-related issues
  • Ability to work independently and lead complex technical efforts
  • High attention to safety, detail, and system reliability
  • Leadership: Ability to mentor junior staff and influence cultural change toward proactive maintenance.
  • Often requires a mix of office work and field work in manufacturing, plant, or customer environments.
  • Safely handle raw and finished material both manually and with an overhead crane
  • Confidently work with industrial chemicals, material handling/environmental equipment, hand tools, power tools, and various testing equipment.
