About The Position
R+L Carriers is seeking an experienced Field Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across our Great Lakes Midwest region . This role provides regional oversight for 10 terminals , 75 maintenance employees , and 746 power units.
Requirements
- Proven maintenance or operations leadership experience
- Strong people-management and communication skills
- Clean driving record (required)
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
Nice To Haves
- CDL preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, coach, and manage maintenance staff across multiple locations
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance to keep equipment safe, compliant, and road-ready
- Manage PM performance, down units, and repair timelines to support freight operations
- Ensure shop compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Partner daily with Operations, Breakdown, Safety, and Human Resources teams
