A Work Program Coordinator provides technical and administrative assistance in planning, developing and coordinating maintenance and repair services programs for all facilities, appurtenant structures, grounds and equipment under the jurisdiction of a major City department; may provide technical and administrative assistance in planning, developing and coordinating new construction projects; and performs other related duties as required.

  • Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the work program, preventive maintenance and special projects of the Maintenance Support Services Division.
  • Provide technical and administrative assistance in planning, developing and coordinating new construction projects.
  • Manage the facilities of the HPD Headquarters and other police facilities.
  • Prioritize, budget for, and process all requests for repairs, renovations, and maintenance contracts.
  • Coordinate work with the City and County of Honolulu's Department of Facility Maintenance or with private contractors.
  • Read and interpret construction blueprints and contracts.
  • Plan, monitor and inspect the repair, maintenance and renovation of police facilities.
  • May be required to work on weekends, evening hours and holidays.
  • Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with major work in business administration, public administration, civil or structural engineering, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional financial or program analysis, estimating or purchasing experience, one of which shall have involved building construction and maintenance activities.
  • Possession of a valid appropriate driver's license (automobile/Type 3), prior to appointment.
  • Experience in managing facilities and coordinating maintenance services.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and contracts.
  • Technical understanding of security systems, cabling systems, mechanical, electrical and electronic facility components.
  • Salary for the Department of Parks and Recreation: $5,369 per month (SR-22).
  • Salary for the Honolulu Police Department: $5,369 - $6,283 per month (SR-22). Actual salary will be commensurate with applicable experience, pending approval.
