About The Position

The Maintenance Project Technician is responsible for executing advanced maintenance activities including major repairs, planned corrective maintenance, equipment rebuilds, and project‑based work that supports long‑term equipment reliability and operational improvement. This position operates on a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional weekends, and focuses on work that requires planning, coordination, technical depth, and independent decision‑making. This role serves as a senior technical resource within the maintenance organization and is accountable for eliminating repeat failures, executing complex repairs, supporting equipment upgrades, and coordinating work that exceeds the scope of routine shift maintenance. This role works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and external contractors to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational and reliability objectives.

Requirements

  • Advanced skills in maintenance with 8 to 10 years of work experience and education.
  • Prior PPM system use
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, safety rules, work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills, able to communicate effectively to facilitate the cross-fertilization of ideas.
  • Team oriented.
  • Travel and passport may be required.
  • Use of Outlook, Excel, Word, and Limble CMMS
  • Mechanical, Fitting (precision machine assembly bearings/alignment etc.)
  • Electrical/PLC/Automation
  • Motors (servo’s and VFD)
  • Fluid Systems (Hydraulic and Pneumatic)
  • Pump control and maintenance (Centrifugal, diaphragm, Mag Drive)
  • Temperature control systems
  • Instrument Calibration
  • Shop Fabrication, Welding/Machining/Milling/Turning
  • Ability to traverse the facility.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to tolerate industrial noise levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Prior work experience with plastics/polymer manufacturing equipment a real plus!
  • Plastics Extrusion, Autoclaves, and associated systems

Responsibilities

  • Always perform work in a safe manner and in accordance with all safety procedures, work instructions, and training.
  • Execute planned corrective maintenance activities to address chronic equipment issues and eliminate repeat failures.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems beyond routine shift‑level scope.
  • Perform major repairs, equipment rebuilds, component replacements, and system upgrades on production and facility equipment.
  • Evaluate equipment condition and determine appropriate repair strategies, materials, and methods.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance activities with production to minimize operational disruption.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Maintenance Technicians as required.
  • Assist with the introduction, installation, commissioning, and modification of new production and facility equipment.
  • Lead or support equipment improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Modify existing plant and equipment to support process improvements, modernization, and capacity enhancements.
  • Support cost‑reduction, efficiency improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plan and execute project work independently or in coordination with Engineering and Operations.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety procedures and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
  • Verify equipment is safe before returning to production.
  • Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and equipment hazards immediately.
  • Work with external contractors and service providers for maintenance and project work.
  • Assist with development of scopes of work, technical requirements, and execution plans.
  • Coordinate contractor activities and monitor work to ensure compliance with site safety rules, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Communicate contractor progress, issues, and risks to maintenance supervision.
  • Document all maintenance activities, downtime, and parts usage in the Limble CMMS.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment condition.
  • Communicate clearly with production and maintenance supervision.
  • Report the operational status of all equipment, including detecting and reporting faulty and abnormal equipment operation and a plan to return to production.
