About The Position

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Maintenance Process Manager at NORPAC is responsible for leading maintenance crews to achieve business goals related to safety, customer satisfaction, process reliability, and cost efficiency. This role involves active participation in leadership teams, ensuring compliance with safety practices, and maintaining effective communication with operational personnel. The manager will oversee maintenance planning, staffing, and budgeting while fostering collaborative relationships with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of experience in the pulp and paper industry.
  • Experience in Power and Controls or Engineering.
  • Good understanding of common pulp and paper machinery.
  • Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance and failure analysis processes.
  • Understanding of root cause failure analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate diverse groups to achieve common objectives.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
  • Highly safety conscious with the ability to lead safety improvements.
  • Leadership, coaching, and team problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to motivate employees toward common goals.
  • Good planning and organizing ability.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, oral, and listening).
  • Good vendor and supplier relationship skills.
  • Familiarity with M/ERP (SAP) maintenance transactions.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Lead crews to accomplish business goals in safety, customer satisfaction, process reliability, and costs.
  • Be an active member of the Product Line Leadership Team and Maintenance Department Leadership Team.
  • Promote a safe workplace and ensure compliance with Electrical Safe Work Practices.
  • Support E&I team members to meet efficiency and quality targets.
  • Maintain communication with operating personnel to identify equipment problems early.
  • Monitor preventative maintenance compliance and intervene as necessary.
  • Ensure adequate spare parts are available to support efficiency goals.
  • Facilitate priority setting and assure appropriate staffing for maintenance and projects.
  • Plan and schedule all work to meet equipment and product line needs.
  • Coordinate outside contractor and supplier support as needed.
  • Manage product line maintenance expense budget and facilitate workflow support to other areas.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with Process Managers, Operations, Engineering, and contractors.
