About The Position

The Preventative Maintenance Technician completes preventive maintenance (PM's) on production machinery and equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to be adaptable and change work direction on short notice to accommodate business needs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate through use of email and verbal communication.
  • Ability to operate drills, grinders, and other maintenance shop tools.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, if necessary, between plants or to obtain parts.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to switch shifts if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance (PM'S) duties as prescribed by the CMMS such as greasing plant equipment, changing oil, cleaning filters, as well as general equipment maintenance.
  • Understanding / using CMMS to catalogue work completed.
  • Communicate with shift leaders and production employees to understand daily needs.
  • Understands all Maintenance checklists and can fill them out in their entirety.
  • Cleans/organizes/maintains parts inventory and accuracy within the CMMS.
  • Repairs/replaces defective parts during PM's.
