About the position

The Maintenance Planning Specialist will develop detailed job plans including the labor (type and quantity), materials, tools, and work procedures for repairs, alterations, and preventative maintenance for the facility and all types of equipment. The position is responsible for the shorthand long term scheduling of all maintenance activities. The position balances priorities, manpower, material, and equipment availability to develop department and individual work schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily work schedules for the Maintenance Supervisor and department Maintenance Technicians.
  • Lead the scheduling of down day and non-down day maintenance work.
  • Develop detailed job plans including the labor (type and quantity), materials, tools, work procedures for repairs, alterations, and preventive maintenance to facilities and equipment to meet the objectives of the work request.
  • Manage and maintain the work flow process (work identifications, planning, scheduling, execution, and auditing).
  • Supervise contractors as necessary.
  • Set-up and maintain any Preventative Maintenance work order established in Maximo.
  • Assist with capital expenditure projects as directed.
  • Requisition parts, confirm materials through pre-arranged kits, and estimate manpower needs for scheduled jobs.
  • Generate purchase requisitions for non-stocked parts and tools to support planned jobs.
  • Responsible for developing cost estimates, tracking spending vs. budget, and performance KPI’s for Maintenance.
  • Maximo systems administration including providing plant support and training, updating equipment hierarchies, PM generation, and generates performance reports.
  • Provide support to personnel during machine upsets and outages.
  • Assist with maintenance activities during machine upsets and outages.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 3+ years experience in Maintenance or Operations in a high volume manufacturing operation
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, machine design, bearing/lubrication, hydraulics, pneumatics and electronics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate’s Degree Preferred
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, oil analysis, I/Thermography) is preferred.
