About The Position

This position involves planning, preparing, issuing, and controlling production schedules, and coordinating material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials that meet production needs. The Maintenance Planner will advise the Project Manager on work-in-progress status, material availability, and potential production issues to ensure adequate personnel, equipment, materials, and services. Key responsibilities include confirming material supply and demands, preparing work orders or purchase requests based on master production schedules, shop load, and inventory. The role requires coordination with various departments such as quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and traffic, as well as scheduling and expediting parts movement. Additionally, the employee is expected to commit to company values, comply with department norms, policies, directives, and procedures, incorporate Lean and P3E concepts, strive for continuous improvement, protect confidential information, and satisfy work schedule requirements.

Requirements

  • Generally 2-4 years of experience in area of responsibility.
  • Prior aircraft Manufacturing/ maintenance and repair experience.
  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles and practices in their work assignments which typically are moderately complex in nature.
  • Knowledge of aircraft production environment.
  • Knowledge of Project Management.
  • Proficiency with planning practices and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Utilization of Lean Production concepts.
  • Ability for data analysis and consolidation.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 "Respirator Protection" regulations with no restrictions that would prevent the proper use and/or seal of the respirator.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required.
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Engineering, Aviation or Business Administration.
  • 1-2 Years of experience with an Advanced Degree.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Advises Project Manager of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
  • Confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
  • Commitment to company values and complies with department norms, policies, directives, and procedures.
  • Incorporates Lean and P3E processes and concepts into daily activities.
  • Strive for continuous improvement to processes and procedures.
  • Honors and protects confidential and proprietary documents and information.
  • Satisfies work schedule requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
