About The Position

The Plant Maintenance Planner schedules the maintenance work activity in the plant.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold people accountable
  • Plant maintenance background in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical parts (motors, gear, boxes, rings).
  • Previous experience managing projects and meeting deadlines
  • High School diploma required
  • Experience working as a mechanic or in a hands-on maintenance capacity
  • Computer literacy/proficiency, experience using SAP highly desired

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred
  • Experience working in a union environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Job Change Coordinator and production staff to plan maintenance during downtime and maintain a planned maintenance schedule for the facility.
  • Provide documentation of upcoming work, including parts lists/kits required.
  • Review and improve the maintenance and planning processes to improve efficiency and remove waste, including but not limited to cost, manning, and materials.
  • Understand storeroom inventories, min/max, and work with storeroom personnel to manage parts inventory and prioritize ordering against available M&E budgets.
  • Interface with the safety observation, walk-and-talk, and near-miss processes within the plant to ensure alignment of maintenance resources and activities to improve employee safety and environmental compliance.
