We are currently seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our team and support our maintenance and operations departments by driving scheduling efficiency, improving work execution, and strengthening our preventive maintenance program.  With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. IREN is currently looking for a US Maintenance Planner to join our Sweetwater, TX team. Protecting our team dynamic and corporate culture are of utmost importance to us, so our chosen candidate brings with them an exceptional attitude.  The mission of the Maintenance Planner is to ensure the highest levels of reliability, uptime, and operational continuity across all critical infrastructure supporting the Data Center and HPC environment. This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance activities that protect power, cooling, network, and compute systems from unplanned downtime. By delivering precise planning, accurate work execution, and seamless vendor coordination, the Maintenance Planner enables safe operations, minimizes risk, and supports the facility’s ability to meet performance, capacity, and availability commitments. The Maintenance Planner will successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position while demonstrating IREN’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or reliability roles (preferably in mission critical environments such as datacenters, HPC, utilities, or industrial facilities).
  • Proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems (e.g., Maximo, SAP, eMaint, Fiix, ServiceNow).
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Familiarity with preventive, predictive, and reliability centered maintenance practices.

  • Proficiency with MS Office programs, MS Projects would be a plus.
  • Experience planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially related to equipment performance and failure trends.
  • Skilled in creating and reviewing detailed job plans, work instructions, and method of procedure (MOP) documents.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with technicians, engineers, vendors, and leadership.
  • Strong understanding of spare parts management, inventory control, and criticality analysis.
  • Ability to identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for all critical infrastructure, including power, cooling, mechanical, and IT support systems.
  • Create detailed work plans, including labor requirements, materials, spare parts, tools, safety procedures, and job sequencing.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, and data center technicians to ensure maintenance activities are executed safely and with minimal impact to uptime.
  • Maintain accurate asset data, PM schedules, and work order histories within the CMMS.
  • Review completed work orders for accuracy, completeness, and quality of execution.
  • Forecast and manage spare parts requirements, ensuring critical components are available to support high‑availability operations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to schedule onsite work, verify scope, and ensure compliance with site standards and security protocols.
  • Support change management processes by preparing maintenance plans, risk assessments, and method‑of‑procedure (MOP) documentation.
  • Analyze maintenance trends, equipment performance, and failure data to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding upcoming maintenance, potential risks, and operational impacts.
  • Assisting developing and standardizing maintenance processes, workflows, and documentation across the facility.
