About The Position

Maintenance Planner, Renewable Diesel PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are a growing organization seeking a talented Maintenance Planner to join our St. Bernard Renewables team as a pivotal member here at PBF Energy. This role is located at Chalmette Refinery in Chalmette, LA. JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Planner provides direct guidance and assistance to the Chalmette Refinery Maintenance Department and indirect support to the other refinery departments in order for those departments to optimize their utilization of the time, manpower, materials, equipment, and energy resources for which they are responsible. This position reports to St. Bernard Renewables.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of refinery maintenance background experience required (including estimating and materials management)
  • High School Diploma required
  • Ability to perform analytical, communication, and team working tasks required
  • Knowledge of refinery operations required
  • Knowledge of each maintenance craft's skill inventory and requirements for completing a job
  • Familiar with the Contract craft guidelines and contract labor; knows the specialty utilized by each craft and the equipment requirements for scheduled tasks
  • Possesses detailed knowledge of safety policies and procedures related to maintenance work in refinery environment required
  • Ability to access, read and interpret engineering drawings required
  • Ability to apply industry estimating standards and adjust for job conditions required
  • Familiar with SAP standards for ordering needed equipment or parts and able to properly estimate lead time for appropriate material delivery preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  • Knowledge of Renewable Diesel Pretreatment Facilities mechanical equipment and processes preferred
  • Knowledge of specific maintenance requirements and activities related to Renewable Diesel Pretreatment Facilities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates the running and shutdown maintenance for a respective area and develops a plan with the aid of the Maintenance and Operations leadership
  • Prepares shutdown performance and budget reports
  • Maintains/updates equipment and turnaround history files
  • Develops detailed work plans with estimated hours, skill requirements, material, special tools, and equipment requirements
  • Monitors job estimates, adjusts daily plans in accordance with priorities and input from Maintenance and Operations leadership
  • Participates in weekly/daily manpower allocation meetings
  • Provides or assists in identifying new parts requirements and establishing spare parts inventory levels with Material Control Department
  • Assists in preparing department budget and controlling of maintenance costs
  • Plans and advises leadership on the use of in-house personnel versus contractors
  • Evaluates weekly area backlog, overtime and budget reports and Purchase Order forecast spending.
  • Track and manage Prevailing Wage requirements related to Renewable Fuels tax credits
  • Interfaces with Operations leadership to establish priorities, resolve critical problems, and determine schedules
  • Coordinates with other refinery departments for assistance in addressing work requests
  • Develops new practices and methods to increase maintenance effectiveness and productivity
  • Maintains and administers the Company's safety, housekeeping, work rules, discipline and reward policies and adheres to the negotiated union contract
  • Performs rotating on-call duties (such as Weekend Duty) and responds to emergencies outside of normal working hours
  • Serves as a backfill for the Area Maintenance Superintendent to manage daily maintenance activities as well as turnaround/outage activities
