About The Position

Plan, coordinate and direct activities concerning maintenance of facility equipment and machinery to optimize efficiency/productivity and meet group and regulatory standards within budgetary guidelines. Plan, coordinate and direct capital equipment project management, facility improvement and utility management. Ensure proper levels of maintenance parts, labor, and supplies are always available.

  • College diploma in administration or related field (or related experience).
  • 3-5 years’ experience in autonomous maintenance and total preventative maintenance implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Word/computer programs.

  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Accounting System: create purchase orders.
  • Resolve any invoice issues.
  • Ensure the safety incident rate reduction meets plant standards.
  • Meet maintenance requirements for sanitation standards.
  • Participate in the Food Safety and HACCP programs as necessary.
  • Check shortage of materials, equipment and stock in current inventory.
  • Monitor the inventory of materials, equipment and stocks.
  • Evaluate and inventory industrial installations.
  • Conduct studies and set up programs designed to keep inventories at optimum level for production and allow optimal use of machinery, materials and resources.
  • Compiles inventory reports, record quantity, nature and value of materials, equipment and inventory available.
  • Prepare orders to restock reserves of materials, equipment and stocks.
  • Look after stock rotation, draw up the list of obsolete stock and eliminate it.
  • Ensure that all plant utilities operate efficiently, within budget, in regulatory compliance, and provide the levels of services required by the Production Departments.
  • Computerize asset information and data.
  • Work on project and fixed-asset capitalization.
  • Involve in analysis of critical plant parts.
  • In collaboration with production departments, find table period to schedule maintenance.
  • Create work orders and inspection sheets for Maintenance.
  • Miscellaneous office work (type, file, etc.).
  • Schedule vacation for Boiler Room and Maintenance employees.
  • Comply with all standards and requirements for SQF, food safety regulations and corporate requirements.
  • Implement and manage the autonomous maintenance activities.
  • Establish financial drivers and KPI to drive Reliability Centered Maintenance.
  • Provide leadership to the Maintenance department and establish Maintenance autonomous strategy.
  • Support the Work Teams development through the Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) pillars and through mentoring of teams.
  • Develop and improve computerized programs/tools to increase machine reliability and performance.
  • Develop training manuals for performing Preventive Maintenance (PM) on equipment.
  • Provide training to the organization on maintenance best practices, TPM, RCM, root cause analysis tools, etc.
  • Comply with corporate HR policy and procedures.
  • Comply with applicable laws.
  • Perform maintenance management responsibilities as needed (to cover absence, etc.).
  • Other duties as required.
  • Prioritize and execute work plan balancing resources between planned and unplanned work.
  • Review all maintenance requests to determine the validity and accuracy of information and engage the appropriate resources to set preliminary priority.
  • Obtain and organize all information required for maintenance technicians to successfully perform work, including parts list and special kitting instructions.
  • Develop and provide job estimates based on the work order including labor, material and outside services.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs with other departments as needed.
  • Follow-up with maintenance technicians and supervisors/planners to ensure completed work orders with recommended improvement comments are returned in a timely fashion.
  • Institute and oversee maintenance programs that preserve asset life, ensure maximum equipment availability and capacity, and that do not interfere with production.
  • Institute and oversee a system to ensure that all vital records (e.g., operating manuals and service records) on plant equipment are complete and up to date.
  • Identify processes/equipment that are under-performing or limiting production, perform root cause analyses and implement appropriate preventive/corrective actions to maximize equipment availability and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate year-over-year improvements in throughput, equipment availability and downtime.
  • Complete repairs and improvements in a cost-effective manner.
  • Spend within budgetary constraints.
  • Procure parts & services of the best quality and price.
  • Code invoices so that material is charged to the correct account.
  • Identify critical spares and maintain appropriate levels of parts inventory.
  • Utilize effective asset maintenance processes such as PM schedules and completion tracking, corrective work orders, root cause failure analysis, and overhauls to maximize equipment performance.
  • Effectively maintain the CMMS system to ensure functionality and utilization across the site.
  • Actively participate in scheduling meetings with internal customers to finalize priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times.
  • Continuously improve the performance of the overall planning and scheduling process by receiving feedback from internal customers.
  • Initiate purchase order request for parts and materials and provide supporting documents supplied by vendor or supplier.
  • Ensure technicians are capturing time worked in WO’s and providing detailed job description.
  • Ensure all follow-up work and identified defects are captured and coded correctly in the CMMS.
