Job Summary : The Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective execution of maintenance activities by managing work orders, planning resources, and maintaining accurate records. This role involves reviewing and prioritizing work orders, assigning tasks to the planning backlog, and verifying proper approvals and authority. The planner oversees material requisitions for planned jobs, enters and closes work orders in the CMMS, and analyzes actual versus planned performance on completed tasks. Additional responsibilities include identifying recurring maintenance issues, maintaining equipment history and parts catalogs, managing storeroom inventory levels, and preserving technical documentation such as blueprints and service manuals. The position also coordinates special programs (e.g., ladder inspections, equipment surveys) and interfaces closely with the storeroom to ensure timely availability of parts and materials. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or higher required.
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance planning experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting required.
  • Experience with CMMS systems
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to define and solve problems without assistance, dealing with many variables and limited information
  • Certification/licensure as requested
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package software is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow up in a timely manner
  • Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of information to Company and Federal standards.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
  • Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders for each significant piece of equipment
  • Assign work orders needing planning and material to planning backlog
  • Asure work order has approval and authority
  • Approve store and purchase requisitions for planned jobs
  • Enter work orders into CMMS to accept charges and close when complete
  • Review actual vs. plan on completed work orders
  • Identify recurring maintenance problems
  • Establish and maintain equipment parts catalog, equipment history, storeroom, min/max levels
  • Maintain technical library (blueprints, technical documents, service manuals, etc.)
  • Coordinate special programs (i.e. ladder inspections, equipment surveys)
  • Interface with Storeroom
  • Assist with developing job kits
  • Prepare daily schedule for maintenance manager
  • Special projects as necessary

  • Complies with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP's) and any job or department specific SOPs. SOPs may cover the areas of (but are not limited to) Employee Health and Safety SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured. SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP's
  • Must work within productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
