The Maintenance Planner role at the Ringgold plant is responsible for scheduling maintenance work activities, coordinating with production staff to plan maintenance during downtime, and maintaining a planned maintenance schedule for the facility. This position involves providing documentation for upcoming work, including parts lists, and continuously reviewing and improving maintenance and planning processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. The planner will also manage storeroom inventories, work with storeroom personnel to prioritize ordering against available budgets, and interface with safety processes to align maintenance resources with employee safety and environmental compliance.

Requirements

  • Excellent computer literacy and proficiency.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical parts (motors, gear boxes, bearings).
  • Experience managing projects.
  • Ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
  • High School diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or Bachelor degree in a technical discipline.
  • Previous industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Job Change Coordinator and production staff to plan maintenance during downtime and maintain a planned maintenance schedule for the facility.
  • Provide documentation of upcoming work, including parts lists / kits required.
  • Review and improve the maintenance and planning processes to improve efficiency and remove waste, including but not limited to cost, manning and materials.
  • Understand storeroom inventories, min/max, and work with storeroom personnel to manage parts inventory and prioritize ordering against available M&E budgets.
  • Interface with the safety observation, walk-and-talk, and near-miss processes within the plant to ensure alignment of maintenance resources and activities to improve employee safety and environmental compliance.
