About The Position

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for scheduling and coordinating Maintenance and Engineering work activities. This role prepares efficient work plans for preventive, predictive, condition-based, and project/backlog maintenance; coordinates parts availability with Technical Stores; ensures internal/external labor resources are available; and aligns execution with the production schedule in partnership with the Production Scheduler. Strong use of the CMMS (e.g., SAP/AMM) and data-driven decision-making is essential.

Requirements

  • Experience in a maintenance environment, preferably as a maintenance technician (minimum 2 years).
  • Experience working in AMM / CMMS (minimum 2 years).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or skilled trades certification(s).

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain planned maintenance schedules and work plans (scope up to ~20 technicians), ensuring all required resources are identified and available.
  • Coordinate parts and materials readiness with the Technical Stores team.
  • Align maintenance execution with the production schedule; partner with Production Scheduling to coordinate timing.
  • Manage CMMS data quality and standards (e.g., FLOCs, BOMs, PMs) when equipment is modified, improved, or added.
  • Review/evaluate maintenance notifications; convert to work orders or provide feedback to requestors as appropriate.
  • Monitor/audit technician work order data entry; provide training and support to ensure complete, meaningful information in the CMMS.
  • Monitor backlog, work order completion, and schedule compliance; plan backlog work to maintain healthy maintenance systems.
  • Generate and distribute KPIs, trend analyses, and CMMS reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Support maintenance team communication, proactively identify issues, and escalate risks or constraints.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives (including NCE/TPM/AMM), track results, and drive execution of assigned improvement projects.
  • Support maintenance cost improvement and budgeting activities; help optimize Maintenance & Improvement (M&I) costs.
  • Ensure compliance and risk items are addressed promptly using available resources.
