As a Maintenance Planner, you'll work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and play a key role in planning and purchasing. You'll coordinate quarterly, semiannual, and annual maintenance activities, ensure compliance with regulatory systems (fire protection, PSM, pressure vessels), and support procurement of critical parts and services that keep the site running smoothly.

  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance schedules for up to 25 technicians.
  • Coordinate quarterly, semi-annual, and annual shutdowns with internal and external resources.
  • Attend production planning meetings to identify maintenance windows and align priorities.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are planned and scheduled daily, including training, emergency/problem-solving work orders, RCA, project support, and special requests.
  • Assist maintenance managers and supervisors in prioritizing work by type, trade assignments, and training needs.
  • Collaborate with production planners to coordinate machinery availability and required downtime.
  • Issue weekly work summary sheets to factory leadership detailing planned activities, required parts, permits, downtime, resources, and execution priorities.
  • Develop and manage an IF Down/Do (IDD) kit location for tasks under one hour; communicate and schedule unexecuted IDD work within two weeks.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (DMS).
  • Maintain accurate asset structures, BOMs, and maintenance plans.
  • Train operators and technicians on system usage and updates.
  • Coordinate and monitor kitted maintenance tasks to ensure timely execution.
  • Own technical loss analysis by reviewing factory loss data and developing corrective plans; escalate unresolved issues to supervisors.
  • Support new project implementation through DMS system development and structure build.
  • Coach and train team members on DMS interaction and performance actions.
  • Regularly engage with technicians to clarify assigned work, revise PM tasks, and update BOMs/parts ordering.
  • Interface with external vendors for planned work (e.g., fire systems, BFPs, pressure vessels, calibrations, PMs).
  • Process expedited purchase orders, obtain necessary approvals, and ensure timely delivery of critical parts.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper records; ensure DMS master data is current (asset structure, BOMs, maintenance plans).
  • Convert maintenance notifications to work orders within 24-48 hours or cancel with feedback to submitters.
  • Report key metrics: PM completion by line (on time/in full), Technician execution performance, PM/Failure Tag correlation to production losses, Safety, Quality, and Failure Tag KPIs, Technician workload and scheduling, Maintenance backlog status, DMS improvement updates (feedback, RCA, BOM changes).
  • Collaborate with purchasing and stockroom teams to ensure availability of materials, parts, and services.
  • Attend supply chain and production planning meetings to identify maintenance opportunities and communicate major overhaul requirements.
  • Deliver weekly/monthly maintenance performance updates via Excel reports and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Manage repair escalations and prioritize requests from the FOS action board.
  • Support PM Pillar activities and team member engagement.
  • High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience working in a manufacturing environment as a production line mechanic, facilities mechanic or parts/purchasing/storeroom technician.
  • Ability to comprehend machine manuals and drawings with a clear interpretation of their meaning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
  • Good general machine shop knowledge.
  • Proficient knowledge of parts and materials as well as their nomenclature.
  • Good math skills.
  • Ability to compose reports to effectively communicate results/conclusions.
  • Must be well organized utilizing sound 5S principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite applications, strong emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Microsoft Project Preferred.
  • Flexible working hours/weekends to support training and/or factory shutdowns as needed.
