About The Position

The E&I Maintenance Planner at International Paper plays a crucial role in enhancing maintenance work efficiency by planning, coordinating, and documenting maintenance activities. This position focuses on improving workforce productivity and ensuring safe execution of maintenance tasks while maintaining compliance with SAP-PM documentation and specifications. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for managing work orders, estimating costs, coordinating resources, and maintaining accurate records to support the maintenance team effectively.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required; post-secondary degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Maintenance Planning experience.
  • Pulp & Paper Mill Maintenance Technician/Planning experience preferred.
  • Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, plan, coordinate, and document Maintenance Work Orders from Work Requests.
  • Improve workforce productivity by providing well-planned work orders for maintenance execution.
  • Maintain documentation of maintenance activities within SAP-PM and ensure compliance with record retention and equipment specifications.
  • Plan maintenance work for future dates and track performance while maintaining accurate records.
  • Screen Work Orders for completeness and make necessary corrections.
  • Conduct site reviews with originating areas to confirm job scope and details of Work Orders.
  • Estimate costs of Work Orders in terms of labor, materials, and outside services.
  • Analyze Work Orders into basic job steps and identify required parts, materials, and skills.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions for materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Verify availability of parts and materials required for Work Order execution prior to scheduling jobs.
  • Coordinate staging of all parts and materials for Work Orders.
  • Solicit Process or Maintenance Engineering support when technical expertise is needed.
  • Obtain necessary documentation for work associated with each Work Order.
  • Prepare check sheets for Preventive Maintenance work and issue them for execution.
  • Establish repetitive Work Orders for selected preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain Work Order Backlogs and communicate status to Operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Review completed work schedules and Work Order feedback forms for compliance and performance.
  • Develop a file of standard plans for recurring repair jobs to simplify planning.
  • Maintain a file for each piece of area equipment with relevant information.
  • Ensure accuracy of SAP equipment files and maintain procedures.
  • Initiate paperwork to maintain proper spare parts inventories.
  • Make recommendations for planning/scheduling improvements.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner and verify all required parts and tools.
  • Assemble complete Work Order Packages with necessary documentation.
  • Update and maintain SAP-PM on all Equipment BOM's.
