The Pipefitter/Welder is responsible for preparing and aligning metal components, including pipes and structural elements, in accordance with project requirements and safety standards. This role involves executing a variety of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and FCAW, to ensure high-quality fabrication and repair of piping systems. The technician interprets schematics and ISO drawings to accurately construct or modify systems and conducts non-destructive testing (NDT) to verify weld integrity and compliance with specifications. Performs both corrective and preventive maintenance on all plant equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems. Responsibilities include prompt troubleshooting, analyzing, and repairing equipment failures to minimize production downtime, as well as conducting regular preventive maintenance to enhance safety, ensure operational reliability, and increase run time between critical equipment failures. Works with vendors and technical representatives to solve difficult plant equipment failures. Installs new equipment in production facilities and writes procedures to ensure proper operation and to extend the useful life of said equipment.
