About The Position
To layout, install, repair, and maintain plant piping systems.
Requirements
- Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification plus one year of trades school training including Plumbing Code courses.
- Must obtain and maintain any necessary training and licensing, including but not limited to, Forklift Operation Certificate, and Aircraft Operating Area License.
- Requires one to three years of industrial pipefitting and plumbing.
Responsibilities
- Installs plant compressed air, water, steam, natural gas piping as well as piping for less common chemicals and gases in accordance with the Uniform Plumbing Code.
- Maintains and repairs piping, pumps, pressure control devices, fuel service area equipment, chemical filtration, back flow prevention and reverse osmosis equipment.
- Safely makes repairs to failed piping systems and equipment.
- Uses lift equipment or ladders to access overhead equipment.
- May be required to use cutting torch and to sweat solder in performance of job duties.
- Responsible for quality of own work.
- Performs other duties as required.
