About The Position

The Maintenance Painter position at Lockheed Martin involves determining the sequence of paint operations and methods to be used, including the need for scaffolding and rigging, color blending and matching, and the type and amount of materials needed. The role requires setting up for jobs by mixing, blending, and matching paint to the proper color and consistency. Painters will apply decorative and protective finish coats to various items, including office furniture and interiors, and may perform drywall finishing. The position requires maintaining Air Pollution Control District (APCD) logs as necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to use spray guns and accessory equipment.
• Knowledge of finish painting techniques.
• Ability to apply paint shop theory, practice, and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of and ability to use uter systems.
• Ability to obtain information from blueprints.
• Ability to use arithmetic including decimals and fractions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/Poly security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Determine sequence of paint operations and methods to be used.
• Set up for job by mixing, blending, and matching paint.
• Direct the erection of scaffolding and rigging when necessary.
• Apply decorative and/or protective finish coats to office furniture and interiors.
• Rub down and mirror finish office furniture.
• Apply trim to office interiors using a trim brush.
• Perform taping, topping, and finishing of drywall.
• May do painting on exteriors and interiors requiring work from scaffolding and swing stages.
• Maintain Air Pollution Control District (APCD) logs as required.
