The Maintenance Operator is responsible for achieving objectives laid down by the Maintenance & Safety Manager. This position requires near perfect attendance and punctuality. Employees are expected to be in their department area before the shift starts. Reasonable overtime hours may be required to meet department needs. This position reports directly to the Maintenance & Safety Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities: None FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Requirements

  • Team Player.
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and logic diagrams.
  • Capable of learning and performing advanced electrical skills.
  • Ability to accurately and timely complete maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to properly use various hand tools.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to follow company safety procedures and processes.
  • Must qualify to operate fork truck, fall protection, and manlift.
  • Successfully complete OSHA 10 certification.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in manufacturing or service industry.
  • Completed vocational education may substitute for experience.
  • Must be able to accurately exchange information with co-workers and management.
  • Heavy lifting (50lbs) is required on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet.
  • Manual dexterity to evaluate, modify, and operate machinery and equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions and operate machines.
  • Temperature of work environment ranges from 15 - 110°F.
  • Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours subject to change at the discretion of management.
  • Overtime is required, as needed to support production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks and conducts preventive maintenance on company equipment; troubleshoots and repairs, when necessary.
  • Operates forklift, manlift, and other heavy equipment, as needed to complete maintenance activities.
  • Follows all safety guidelines and reports violations, accidents and near misses to supervisor.
  • Follows instructions given by supervisor.
  • Responsible for housekeeping in designated work area and throughout the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
