About The Position

THIS POSITION IS ONLY FOR THE SUMMER 2026 - May 7th - Aug 26, 2026 Qualifications for Position: Some experience in carpentry/painting, with a basic knowledge of building structures and the tools of the trade. Mechanical aptitude. Leadership and organizational skills with the ability to relate to others cooperatively and courteously. Physical requirements Able to lift 30 lbs regularly Able to stoop and bend Able to stand for extended periods No allergies to paints, glues, etc. Be able to work on ladders Able to navigate uneven terrain. Be able to distinguish between colors and have sufficient hearing to work safely and cooperatively. Age: at least 16 years old required Expected Duties and Responsibilities: To work with and assist the Building Maintenance Technicians in their daily duties. Consider the other staff, faculty, and residents we serve by practicing cleanliness and orderliness in all work areas. Observe needed repairs/damages across campus and report them utilizing the Maintenance Direct work request system. Be able to work with other shops, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical when needed. Responsible for following instructions and seeking clarification when needed. Adhere to all safety practices and training. Perform other duties as assigned.
