About The Position

The Maintenance Operations Manager at McKesson Corporation is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of maintenance operations within a designated facility or region. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of equipment and infrastructure, directly contributing to operational continuity and productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in maintenance management or a similar leadership role, preferably within a large-scale distribution, manufacturing, or healthcare logistics environment.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing a team of maintenance professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and experience in implementing and utilizing such systems.
  • Expertise in various maintenance methodologies, including preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance), and root cause analysis.
  • Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety regulations (OSHA) and environmental compliance standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call availability, to support 24/7 operations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance programs for a wide range of equipment and systems, including material handling, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department, including scheduling, work order management, resource allocation, and supervision of maintenance technicians and support staff.
  • Manage departmental budget, control expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities related to parts, labor, and external services.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations (OSHA, EPA), company policies, and quality standards.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing data analytics to identify trends, optimize processes, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, engineering, supply chain) to support production goals, minimize downtime, and resolve maintenance-related issues.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate service contracts, and oversee the procurement of spare parts and equipment.
  • Develop and implement training programs for maintenance staff to enhance technical skills and promote professional growth.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot critical equipment failures or emergencies, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal impact on operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and performance metrics.
