About The Position

At Insteel, we strive to be the nation's supplier of choice for steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction applications. We make the products that support our bridges, roads, and infrastructure. If you are an experienced and skilled maintenance technician in an industrial environment, Insteel has an exciting opportunity for you at our Gallatin, TN facility. A maintenance technician will install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment. We have a high commitment to safety and are looking to expand our maintenance department with others who feel strongly about achieving a ZERO HARM work environment. The schedule for this role is: Monday - Thursday (Day Shift); 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Occasional additional overtime as needed to meet business demands.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent – technical training is a plus.
Must have 3 years of previous work experience in the capacity of an industrial maintenance technician
Ability to complete forms and understand written instructions.
Ability to perform basic math skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
Must display a stable previous employment history.

Responsibilities

Always wear your PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) like gloves, cut-resistant sleeves, safety glasses, & safety-toe shoes
Be inquisitive, ask questions, be willing to learn new things
Have good attendance
Be willing to get your hands dirty
Troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery and production equipment
Assist team members with preventative maintenance of machines
Repair hydraulic & pneumatic equipment
Operate cutting torch and welding equipment
Have basic math skills and the ability to measure lengths, diameters, weights, and counts
