Essity is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician. They will be responsible for reducing unscheduled maintenance, increasing uptime and lowering maintenance costs by developing maintenance capabilities and effectiveness. This role will serve as a shared resource for the entire mill when technical expertise or other capabilities are needed to solve a problem, support a project, or implement changes, and will strive to drive safe, respectful, and positive workplace interactions. The ideal candidate should/could live in Barton/Cherokee, AL. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • For Electricians: Electrical work scope includes knowledge in motor control circuits, instrumentation (transmitters, control loops, control valves, I/P, etc.), AC & DC drives, electrical power distribution, Allen Bradley PLC software, Honeywell software, I/O devices, pneumatic & hydraulic systems and other industrial electrical systems
  • For Mechanics: Mechanical work scope includes knowledge of industrial process equipment (process pumps, gearboxes, agitators, screw press, conveyors, fans, etc.), machine alignment, belt drives, chain drives, installation of roller bearings and drive couplings, machine rolls and other industrial mechanical systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on process equipment to improve area process reliability
  • Learn new technology, processes and equipment and educate other maintenance technicians and operators
  • Assist operations in troubleshooting equipment and processes
  • Maintain necessary documentation (drawings, diagrams, bill of materials, etc.) and communicate repairs to others
  • Perform corrective maintenance on process equipment by performing precision maintenance best practices to optimize equipment life
  • Perform maintenance activities in accordance with all relevant safe work practices such as specified by regulatory guidelines (OSHA, NFPA70E, etc.) and mill safety policy
  • Participate in improvement projects to reduce maintenance costs and reduce process equipment failures
