About The Position
The role of the Mechanical Technician is to be a great Nucor team member that is focused on achieving exceptional results in the areas of safety, cost, and reliability. The selected candidate will become a fluid power expert and responsible for the preventative and predictive maintenance on our power transmission, fluid, and cooling systems. The role will coordinate with area departments, maintenance, and vendors to drive continuous improvement and reliability on these systems. This technician will support all maintenance activities in order to grow a skill set with the expectation of moving into an MNT Shift position. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Requirements
- Experience in industrial or military mechanical maintenance.
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in steel mill mechanical maintenance.
- Experience with various types of welding methods, hydraulic systems, and machine shop operations.
