About The Position

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete Postal Service Test 955 for the Maintenance Mechanic job group, which assesses maintenance knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks on various types of mail processing and delivery equipment.
  • Conduct routine repairs including plumbing, heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning.
  • Maintain and repair simple control circuitry, bearings, chains, motors, belts, and other equipment parts.
  • Assemble, install, replace, repair, modify, or adjust small operating equipment.
  • Assist skilled maintenance employees in disassembling equipment, replacing parts, relocating, and reassembling equipment.
