About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is a vital role in ensuring the success of our manufacturing operations. This position focuses on maintaining the efficient and safe operation of industrial machinery and equipment. Responsibilities include conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and implementing preventative measures to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Additionally, this position serves as a primary electrical resource within the maintenance team and supports PLC-controlled automation systems, electrical installations, and complex equipment diagnostics in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. It is responsible for the installation, repair, electrical troubleshooting, and maintenance of production manufacturing equipment. This position will be a level 2 or a level 3 depending on experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Demonstrated experience working with 120V, 240V, and 480V systems.
  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled systems and automation.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and regulations related to industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency with precision instruments and electrical diagnostic tools (multimeter, megger, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years’ experience in troubleshooting / fixing heavy production machinery
  • Strong electrical/electronic background with proven industrial troubleshooting experience.
  • Formal training or apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, electronics, pneumatics, industrial maintenance preferred

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Installation & Troubleshooting (Primary Focus)
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems operating at 120V, 240V, and 480V.
  • Run, bend, and secure conduit; pull and terminate electrical cable for equipment installations and modifications.
  • Diagnosing and repair motors, motor starters, VFDs, motor generator sets, transformers, relays, circuit breakers, control panels, and machine control circuits.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control circuits, safety circuits, and process control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and wiring drawings.
  • Inspect and test electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform panel modifications and component replacement as required.
  • PLC & Automation Support
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems.
  • Navigate PLC programs (such as Allen-Bradley or similar platforms) to diagnose I/O faults and field device issues.
  • Mechanical & Equipment Support
  • Install, repair, and maintain production/manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose complex equipment malfunctions and make repairs or adjustments efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in equipment changeovers, including electrical disconnections and reconnections.
  • Forklift certification and High Lift training required.
